Originally Archibald Campbell & Harley, the Partners owned a double townhouse on Queen Street (Edinburgh) for decades and finding a buyer for the property, aligned to the owners aspirations, proved to be quite a challenge. However, in 2012 a purchaser was identified (off market) and, whilst the transaction went through, ACH was also being acquired by Shoosmiths. Simultaneously we were appointed on the acquisition remit, and we embarked on an acquisition of 11,000 sq ft of Grade A space in Saltire Court on very favourable terms. Shoosmiths have been there ever since and have developed into an award-winning practice in Scotland, growing their headcount significantly.
Chris provided invaluable commercial and technical advice in relation to ACH Shoosmiths occupational requirement which resulted in a relocation to Saltire Court. That transaction was also linked to the complicated sale of our double townhouse on Queen Street. He was thoroughly professional in all our dealings and demonstrated exceptional market intelligence, good humour and tenacity in just the right balance. On the odd occasion he wasn’t available, Nick was on hand to provide rock-solid support.
